Lost In Oildale, Found In Music
Joey Kuntz's Journey from Fargo to Bakersfield and Beyond
Hey everyone, Jeff here! Happy New Year! I recently caught up with my old bandmate Joey Kuntz from "The Fillers." These days, Joey is living and playing music in Bakersfield, CA. He's a dedicated father of four, and music is a core part of who he is. His bluesy harmonica playing was inspired by his brother. He found his niche in The Fillers, becoming a magnetic frontman. "I was just being myself and having fun in the moment," he recalls. He released his album "Lost in Oildale" in 2021. One song, "Bring Me Down," was written while his son was in the NICU. "We were fighting for our lives in the hospital every day. It was one way I could express it."
